NYK Logistics (UK) Ltd appoints new Sales Director
NYK Logistics (UK) Ltd has announced the appointment of Steve Russell as Sales Director.
Steve, (54), joins the company following a period working with NYK in a consultancy role, spearheading the development of NYK’s relationship with a major manufacturing customer. Prior to this, Steve was a Director at the former Christian Salvesen where he worked for 19 years in a series of increasingly senior roles.
At NYK, Steve will be responsible for new business acquisition and key account development to accelerate growth in key sectors including consumer goods, pharmaceutical/healthcare, non-food and food retailing, automotive and general manufacturing.
At a strategic level, Steve will develop and design a strategy which will allow NYK to further exploit its unique ability to provide end-to-end supply chain solutions on a global basis, maintain double digit revenue growth and increase profits.
Steve said: “On the one hand, NYK has a blue-chip customer base, access to a global infrastructure and the backing of the NYK Group. On the other, it remains an extremely agile organisation with the autonomy to make decisions and get on with things. This combination of qualities is unusual and attractive to both existing and potential customers.
“The company also has a good mix of personality and personalities – the culture and people within the business are both good and I very much look forward to becoming an active member of the team and driving the growth and development which I am confident the business is well placed to achieve.”
Steve takes a place of NYK’s Board of Directors, reporting to Chief Executive Officer, Ian Veitch.
Married to Chris, Steve lives in Brixworth, Northampton and enjoys golf, rugby and gardening in his spare time.
