Introduction of an Emergency Gulf of Riga winter surcharge

NYK will implement an emergency surcharge on all cargoes to and from Latvia (Riga), due to extreme winter weather currently affecting the Gulf of Riga.  This surcharge will apply for as long as the current operational conditions in the Baltic Sea continue.

Routes affected:        Asia – Europe and Transatlantic trades, both eastbound and westbound.

 

Effective date:           For Asia-Europe trade: 12^th March 2010

For Transatlantic trade: 1^st April 2010

 

Quantum:                    €15 per TEU.
