NYK announces stage 2 of its structural revenue recovery (SRR) programme.

Further to our letter of 9^th March announcing our SRR commencing on 1^st April, the freight rates on the Asia – Europe trade routes continue to be commercially unviable.  To ensure we continue to offer you the high quality liner service expected of NYK, we are forced to implement stage 2 of our SRR.  As a result, we plan to increase our rates from 1^st July 2009.

The rate increases are as follows:-

For westbound cargo from Asia to North Europe: US$ 400 per TEU

For eastbound cargo from North Europe, the Mediterranean and Black Sea to all destinations: US$ 150 per TEU
