Samsung (UK) and NYK Logistics have together won the award for Logistics Best Practice at the 2010 Chartered Institute of Logistics & Transport (CILT) Annual Awards for Excellence.

Samsung and NYK entered the awards with a case study that documented the impact of their portcentric logistics solution. The case study explained how this solution had achieved a step-change in supply chain performance across a diverse product range, including mobile phones, TVs, DVD players and digital cameras as well as domestic appliances and home laundry.

The CILT Annual Awards "aim to recognise achievements, encourage the highest standards and take a professional approach to the practice of logistics and transport."

In the presence of HRH The Princess Royal, Mr Ingook Hong (UK Senior Finance Director, Samsung) and Ian Veitch (CEO, NYK Logistics UK) accepted the award.

Ian Veitch commented: "We are very proud of the service we provide to Samsung and are delighted that it has achieved official recognition as 'Best Practice' by winning this most prestigious award."
